Anger Management Classes

Anger management is a process through which people can gain a perspective on their anger and find out ways to stay calm in situations that would otherwise trigger it. As it is impossible to avoid people and places that trigger anger, anger management aims to reduce the emotional and physical arousal that anger causes. Anger management does not ask people to hold in their anger, which is dangerous. Rather, it teaches them how to regulate it and release it in an appropriate way. In short, it is about identifying and controlling one’s reaction to anger and learning how to respond in a healthier way.

Parenting Classes/Training

Parenting Classes are educational courses that teach parents general parenting skills and help them develop and maintain positive relationships with their children. Many parents attending parenting classes are going through divorce or are engaged in a custody battle. Parenting classes do not require students to maintain a relationship with the other parent, but focus on co-parenting skills, and nurturing the relationship the children have with both their parents. The specific course program differs by location, though the goals are the same, and they are all tailored to help parents struggling with parenting for one reason or another.

Women's  Group

These groups allow for time to focus specifically on issues that affect women in recovery. During these groups we will discuss prevention plans and skills, mental wellness, career building, and self-care to coping strategies. These groups are considered a place of healing, where women can build friendships, work toward acceptance of their mental health and obtain support to manage their lives.

Men's Group

These groups work with men on understanding issues surrounding their mental health and recovery and how stigmas can play a role in preventing men from seeking help. These groups offer men the opportunity to network with each other and understand that "their" issues are not just "their" issues.
